Ipogeo San Salvatore – Situato al di sotto della Chiesa di San Salvatore, al centro dell’omonimo villaggio che si ripopola i primi di settembre, in occasione delle celebrazioni in onore di San Salvatore che culminano con la nota “Corsa degli Scalzi”. L’Ipogeo, realizzato nel IV sec. d.C., si articola su un sistema di corridoi e stanze che confluiscono su un pozzo dalle acque considerate sacre. Le pareti conservano iscrizioni in greco, latino e arabo, oltre a raffigurazioni mitologiche tra cui Ercole e il leone Nemeo.

San Salvatore Hypogeum – Located beneath the Church of San Salvatore, at the heart of the village of the same name, which comes alive in early September during celebrations honoring San Salvatore, culminating in the famous “Run of the Barefooted” (Corsa degli Scalzi). The Hypogeum, built in the 4th century AD, features a system of corridors and rooms converging on a well with waters once considered sacred. Its walls bear inscriptions in Greek, Latin, and Arabic, as well as mythological depictions including Hercules and the Nemean lion.
